Charm Sciences, Inc. is pleased to announce that ready-to-drink (RTD) coffee beverages have been validated on the Charm EPIC Microbial ATP System for use as a rapid microbial release test. Extensive testing was performed with over ten different microbial strains, all of which the EPIC successfully detected in a wide array of RTD coffee products, including black coffees, coffees with dairy creamer, and coffees with plant-based creamer.
Tetyana Shulyak, PhD, lead scientist for EPIC research and development at Charm Sciences says, “The RTD coffee beverage market is growing rapidly and demand for the product is high”. “The EPIC system helps companies keep up with this increasing demand by allowing them to safely release their products to the market days sooner than was previously possible.”

While standard microbial testing takes 7 to 15 days, the EPIC system accurately detects microbial contamination within three days.
RTD caffeinated beverages join a wide variety of beverage types that have been validated on the EPIC system.
