Without need of much conviction, it's very clear that Food Safety is extremely important. The raw materials which comes from agriculture commodities like corn, grains, soya beans and cereals also pose an inherent threat to food safety. These commodities have natural toxins which produced by certain types of molds during storage or due to climate conditions. They toxins which are commonly known as mycotoxin are stable and fairly hard to remove during food processing. Long term effects on health of chronic mycotoxin exposure include the induction of cancers and immune deficiency. Therefore, it's important for manufacturers to always test and check the presence of these toxins to ensure that it's below the safe limit.
Going to the processing line is even more critical as it's the place where all the undesirable contaminants are treated. Unfortunately, it's also the point where new contamination can easily arise. Things like insufficient cleanings, residuals products and human intervention are among the main safety concern. Fortunately, new technology by using biological marker like ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate), much of this can be validated reliably within a short period of time. Therefore, further contamination outbreak can be avoided.
