The stand-alone UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, SD-1000, combines the features of a Windows PC with those of a double beam instrument. The SD-1000 is a double beam UV-Vis Spectrophotometer with a beam splitter and two silicon photodiode detectors. Since sample and reference beams are measured simultaneously by two separate but identical detectors, the effect of lamp drift is virtually eliminated. This means that analysis can begin immediately without much warm-up for the lamp to stabilize. Also sample and blank are measured simultaneously rather than at separate times.
