Bactoscan FC
ex. Foss - Denmark
The BactoScan FC is the ideal solution for laboratories requiring reliable, instant and accurate bacteria count in raw milk with minimum sample handling. The Bactoscan FC employs a flow cytometry to provide a system that counts Individual Bacteria Cells – IBC (only viable bacteria). This gives a high accuracy compared to methods that are strongly influenced by bacterial growth requirements and by the number of single bacteria in a bacteria cluster.
Benefits and features
The major benefits and features of the BactoScan™ FC are as follows:
- Individual bacteria count (IBC) – The BactoScan FC counts all bacteria as single cells, thereby giving uniform and high performance in accuracy, repeatability and reproducibility. This because counting bacteria using plate count is influenced by operator, the number of bacteria in bacteria clusters and the variation which can occur in plate count results depending on the treatment of the milk sample during the whole treatment prior to analysis
- 50, 100 and 150 samples per hour with up-grade possibilities – for all laboratory needs. The high capacity means high through-put of samples per day, use of labour force for other purposes and fast response
- High and low sensitivity model – to meet the needs of milk grading at different class limits. Allows high quality results for all milk qualities
- Results in less than 9 minutes – fully reliable and for immediate feedback
- Fully automated instrument and few moving parts – assures operator independence, fast incubation, no dilution steps and maximum up-time
- Bacteria control samples – ensure correct performance throughout the working day, standardised instruments within and between laboratories giving you results you can always rely on, for quality assurance and Good Laboratory Practices
- Unique reagent concept – simple and very fast reagent handling together with a reduction in reagent consumption and waste. Low reagent costs per samples, reduction in time spend on mixing reagents and less operator dependency
- Minimum time needed for start-up/shut-down – up running immediately
- Measure cold or warm samples without any pre-treatment and with equal performance - analysis of cold samples means no risk of growth before analysis, saves time in sample handling and costs of water bath
- Flowcytometry measuring principle – and closed measuring system, gives you a more stable instrument and very good performance
- Member of the Foss Integrator family – you will have the same user interface as FOSS MilkoScan™ 6000 FT, Fossomatic™ and CombiFoss™, offering advanced data handling and storage facilities. This means flexibility in the laboratory, increased sample throughput and enables your laboratory to simplify sample flow while improving Quality Insurance.
